Halloween Decorations

Save your cash for caramel covered apples or to be chased around by some guy with a chainsaw this Halloween. I have some inexpensive Halloween projects and ideas that are far from scary for your pocket book.

Project 1: Tablescape

Crow Tree:
Materials:
- Branch from outside (the gnarlier the better)              - Styrofoam
- Crows (I found mine at the dollar store)                    - Approx. 2 bags of candy corns
- 2 vases, one smaller than the other                            - Moss
Directions:
-Once you have found the perfect branch, stuff into the Styrofoam and place it in the smaller of the 2 vases.
- The trick is to have 2 vases.  1) You don't use as much candy corn and 2) your branch will stay put better.
- Fill the outer vase with the candy corn. At this point, you can opt to cover both vases with the candy or put
moss on top (I chose this to deter the little people and the husband from snitching my centerpiece).
- Add the crows and there you go!
Skull Platter:
For this I snatched a silver platter that I had in my cupboard and filled it will skulls that I found at the dollar store. I also found those cool moss covered stones there too.

The total cost of this project was under $10. Thanks dollar store!

Project 2: Spooky Terrariums

Aren't these adorable? I found this idea in the CountryLiving Magazine. You can get the directions here: link.
Most of the items you could probably find at the dollar store and around your yard.

Project 3: Ghosts!

I snatched this idea off of Pinterest. All you need is a roll of Glad Press and Seal. Take your desired amount of Press and Seal and place it on top of a piece of paper (it is easier to cut if it is on paper). Trace your ghost, cut out and stick it to a mirror or window. How easy is that?

Other Ideas:
- I love using pumpkins as decor!
                   1) They come in interesting shapes and colors.
                   2) You can transition them into Thanksgiving decorations.
                   3) Group and stack them in many different ways.
- Think outside the box. Find a set of candle holders and place pumpkins on them instead of candles.
- Hop on the internet, there are so many fun free printables you can frame and hang.
- Stop by your local dollar store, you might be surprised at what you find! Check out that fun skeleton
  garland I found at mine!

Until next time, happy hauntings!
